Cheers Magazine honors Legal Sea Foods
Cheers magazine, "the premier on-premise beverage resource," today announced the winners of its Cheers Awards for Beverage Excellence for 2004. Legal Sea Foods received a coveted national award for "Best Wine Program" for its outstanding wine lists.
Winners of this year's awards will be presented at the Cheers Beverage Conference February 17 - 18, 2004, in Irvine, California. David Alphonse, Director of Beverage Operations for Legal Sea Foods, will be on hand to accept the award.
Legal Sea Foods was cited for its emphasis on extraordinary value in wine-pricing, and its vast array of wine offerings. In particular, the award panel was impressed by Legal's unusually wide selection of wines-by-the-glass - as many as 35 in most Legal restaurants! - and a similar abundance of half-bottles of high-quality vintages. This availability allows even novice diners to experiment with enjoying high-end wines in an affordable way.
The "Cheers Awards" winners were selected by a panel of restaurant and beverage executives and the Cheers magazine editorial staff from entries from around the country. "We always have a difficult time selecting the winners from the terrific entries we receive," said Cheers editor Jack Robertiello. "But this year's winners should be especially proud because of the high quality of the competition."
Legal Sea Foods has also been awarded wine nods from Boston Magazine and Wine Spectator this year. The company, based in Boston, MA, operates 28 fine-dining restaurants from Massachusetts to Florida.
