E-Gift your steaks at the Keg

E-Gift swipe cards have simplified the dining experience for guests at the Keg Steakhouse & Bar. On November 13, 2000, Ernex Marketing Technologies Inc. successfully launched the Keg's Electronic Gift Certificate Program for 20 locations in Texas, Washington, and Oregon. Ernex will be providing the Keg with its state-of-the-art real-time electronic marketing technology, 24/7 customer-service support, and web-enabled reporting tools.

The Keg's E-Gift cards are credit-card sized, magnetic swipe cards that can be loaded with any value between $10 and $5,000, and used repeatedly until depleted. Upon presenting this payment card at the end of a meal, the card will be swiped at the point-of-sale, and the ERNEX system instantly decreases the value on the card for the meal. The card's current value will be communicated on the guest's receipt, which can also include customized messages, coupons, or sweepstakes contests triggered by the ERNEX system.

Unlike traditional paper gift certificates where merchants have to give cash back on unused portions, E-Gift cards will allow the Keg to retain more dollars for unused gift certificate dollars. Security is also increased since each new E-Gift card purchase requires an activation procedure through the ERNEX system. A suite of reports accessible over a secure web site gives the Keg a powerful tool to account for their gift certificate sales for all stores, by region, or by location.
