The Georgian Terrace Hotel celebrates Valentine’s Day in grand style

History and romance come alive at Atlanta's landmark The Georgian Terrace Hotel this Valentine's Day as it celebrates a Valentine's weekend featuring a four-course gourmet dinner for $90 and special room rates.

Guests wishing to extend their evening of romance may reserve a luxurious suite room from $154 to $269 for the Sweetheart Package, which includes a deluxe one-bedroom luxurious suite, dinner and breakfast for two at Savoy, special bath amenity and champagne and strawberry shortcake delivered to your room at turn down. To make reservations, please call the Savoy at 404-898-8350.

Begin a romantic evening at the opulent Savoy Bar & Grill, where Executive Chef, Jeff Vosburgh, will prepare a scrumptious four-course prix fixe dinner, offered on Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15, with seatings at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. The Valentine’s dinner is $90.00 per couple, and couples may choose to add a bottle of signature wine for an additional $30.00.

The signature wines available to compliment guests' dinner are Geyser Peak Sauvignon Blanc, J. Lohr "Riverstone Estate" Chardonnay, Pedroncelli "Three Vineyards" Cabernet and Norton Estate Merlot.

Chef Vosburgh begins with a selection of appetizers including Celery Root, Corn & Oyster Chowder, Seasonal Mix Greens, Cranberries, Great Hill Blue & Sage Vinaigrette, or Asparagus, Heirloom Tomato & Ricotta Salad with Fig Vinegar.

The first course features Vanilla Poached Lobster with Fava Beans, Spiced Pecans & Micro Arugula, Maple Grilled Bobwhite Quail over Stewed Beluga Lentils & Veal Stock, or Carrot Ravioli with Fried Sage, Bolete Mushrooms & Honey.

Guests will feast on entrees of Herb Crusted Rack of Lamb with Beets, Parsnip Puree & Caramel Lamb Jus, Rainbow Trout with Quinoa, Braised Greens & Mustard Crème Fraiche or Ashley Farms Chicken with Goat Cheese Whipped Potatoes, Southern Beans & Citrus Jus.

After dinner guests can satisfy their sweet tooth with a choice of tantalizing desserts: Chocolate, Chocolate & Chocolate, Lemon & Mars Capone Tart with Vanilla Sorbet, or Strawberry & Grand Marnier Shortcake.

A feast for all of the senses, guests will dine amidst the architectural splendor of this historic landmark. The tony Savoy Bar & Grill was added during The Georgian Terrace Hotel's recent multi-million dollar restoration and occupies the original (1911) hotel lobby overlooking Peachtree Street.

Intricate woodwork, damask tapestries, huge Palladian windows, overstuffed chairs, marble columns, and an open action station create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The hotel is known worldwide for hosting the premier party of Gone with the Wind in 1939.

Built in 1911 at the corner of Peachtree Street and Ponce de Leon Avenue in midtown, The Georgian Terrace Hotel is the most distinguished hotel in Atlanta that is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The property features 325 guest suites; a stunning rooftop pool; exercise room and two restaurants. The spacious guest suites are elegantly furnished with mahogany vanities and fully equipped kitchens.

In the hotel's public areas, visitors can explore classically proportioned hallways and parlors accented with vaulted ceilings, marble and wood columns, intricate plaster moldings, crystal chandeliers and spiral staircases.
