Maverick Ranch’s pre-cooked natural meat products meet guidelines for healthy diet

The American Heart Association approved two Maverick Ranch Great Gourmet products for Heart Healthy Food Certification last week. This certification means that Maverick Ranch’s Beef Swiss Steak and Beef Stroganoff Great Gourmet entrees fit the criteria for a heart healthy diet. Consumers can now look for the familiar heart-check mark associated with healthy eating on these packages.

Maverick Ranch Natural Meats’ Great Gourmet entrees are fully-cooked with fresh natural beef and are designed to provide great taste, tender meat, convenience, and healthy eating in six varieties. Three varieties now proudly carry the heart-check mark, which include Beef Pot Roast with Au Jus and Onions, Beef Swiss Steak in Sun-Dried Tomato Sauce, and Beef Stroganoff in Mushroom and Sherry Sauce. The Beef Pot Roast was certified earlier this year.

Under the heart-check mark program a beef cut must meet the USDA Extra Lean guidelines, which are less than 5g fat, 2g saturated fat per 4oz uncooked serving, and per 100 grams.

“We are very excited that three of our restaurant-quality Great Gourmet entrees meet AHA criteria for Heart Healthy,” said Rex Moore, family owner and president of Maverick Ranch Natural Meats. “Our goal is to provide exciting flavors in a great-tasting, convenient, and nutritious option for busy consumers trying to eat a healthy meal.”

Each entrée is individually packaged in its own bag, with two entrees per package. The entrees can be cooked together or one at a time, depending on individual needs. Maverick Ranch makes preparation simple by offering two cooking methods: boil in bag or microwave. Either method is convenient, allowing a hearty meal to be served in as little as four minutes.
