Cargill Foods introduces breaded beef steak

Excel Meat Products, a Cargill Foods company, is introducing the Breaded Beef Steak for multiple menu applications. The product will be featured at the National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago May 17.

"Restaurants and other food service facilities will like the beef steak's versatility," said Kathy Mullins, sales & marketing assistant, Excel Meat Products. "It can be served as a breakfast item, for lunch or as a dinner entree."

The product has several features that contribute to an attractive Southern-fried appearance, such as its golden brown coloring with black pepper that is visible to the eye. It is lightly seasoned and lightly breaded with a solid texture bite. "It is similar to chicken fried steak, but restaurant patrons can enjoy it for breakfast or lunch because its smaller size will fit on a biscuit or bun," added Mullins.

Breaded Beef Steak is available in 2.8-ounce portions and packaged 120 pieces to a box. Each box weighs approximately 21 pounds. Portions are individually quick frozen for ease of handling and less shrinkage. They should be deep fried prior to serving at 350 degrees for four minutes.
