Valentine's couples discover romance at Atlanta's 'Grand Dame' of Peachtree Street

Discover the splendor and history of old Atlanta this Valentine's Day with The Georgian Terrace Hotel's "Romance Package." The package includes accommodations, a chilled bottle of champagne accompanied by mouth watering chocolate covered strawberries, one complimentary "in-room movie," and a full American breakfast for two to be enjoyed in the comfort of your room or in the exquisite Savoy Bar & Grill. Rates for the "Romance Package" are $199 per night. For reservations call 1-800-651-2316.

Guests can add to their romantic Valentine's Day getaway and enjoy a decadent diner at The Savoy Bar & Grill. Executive Chef Jeff Vosburgh will prepare a delectable four-course meal Saturday February 14, with seatings at both 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. The Valentine's Day dinner is $90 per couple and guests may choose to add a bottle of signature wine, such as Geyser Peak Sauvignon Blanc or "Three Vineyards" Cabernet, for an additional $30. For reservations call 404-898-8350.

Chef Vosburgh will serve flavorful creations such as; asparagus, heirloom tomato and ricotta salad with fig vinegar; spiced pecans and micro arugula, maple grilled quail over stewed beluga lentils with veal stock; rainbow trout with quinoa, accompanied by braised greens and mustard crème fraiche; and to cap off the meal a dessert of chocolate, chocolate and chocolate, just to name a few.

The Savoy Bar & Grill was constructed during the Hotel's recent multi-million dollar restoration and occupies the original 1911 lobby overlooking Peachtree Street. Intricate woodwork, damask tapestries, Palladian windows, overstuffed chairs, and marble columns create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a romantic dinner for two.

Built in 1911 at the corner of Peachtree Street and Ponce de Leon Avenue in midtown, The Georgian Terrace Hotel is the most distinguished hotel in Atlanta. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the property features 319 guest suites, a beautiful rooftop pool, a fitness center, and a gourmet restaurant.

The elegantly appointed suites set the standard for luxury with antique-style furnishings, "Dream" beds with European-style duvet covers, large bathrooms, full kitchens, over-sized windows, and traditional amenities. Valentine's guests can capture the feeling of Gone with the Wind while exploring spectacular hallways and parlors accented with vaulted ceilings, marble and wood columns, crystal chandeliers, and spiral staircases.
