Wine tourism now closer to Caribbean Markets

Viajes & Vinos and Vintage Spain recently signed an agreement to join efforts in the promotion of wine tourism packages throughout the Caribbean, a new vehicle to promote Spain as a tourist destination. As a result of this alliance, Viajes & Vinos will act as the exclusive authorized representative of the Spanish wine tour operator in the Region.

Wine tourism is a travel option that has become increasingly popular in recent years. It is an innovative vacational experience, attractive both to connoisseurs and to travelers with little or no wine experience at all. Wine encounters include visits to wineries, recreational and social activities to expand the visitors' choices, authentic regional architecture and heritage attractions, wine tastings and gastronomy, as a different approach to a country's culture, natural surroundings and people. Traveling to the origin of wine is an extension of the spiritual experience that constitutes drinking and sharing a glass in good company.

Among the list of wine tours available there is an interesting variety ranging from one day to week-long options that visit the best known wine regions in Spain, such as Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Penedès, and others denominations and areas to be discovered. There are different tour options available all-year long both to individual travelers and groups. Tours could be conducted both in English and in Spanish. The initiative is supported by a large number of prestigious Spanish wineries. This is the first time wine tourism is being marketed formally among Caribbean travel agents.
