Uno Restaurant Holdings Corp. announces the opening of its 31st Uno Chicago Grill restaurant in Massachusetts. The new Uno Chicago Grill is conveniently located at the Wrentham Premium Outlets and will officially open for business on Thursday, April 29, 2004.

We are proud to be part of the Wrentham community and are excited to open another Uno Chicago Grill in Massachusetts, said Uno President and Chief Operating Officer Paul MacPhail. Although our guests may already know and love our famous Chicago-style deep dish pizza, they’ll be pleased to find items like our popular, juicy steaks on the menu as well.

The newly built Uno Chicago Grill will seat 222 guests and will open with 160 employees. The restaurant will look and feel like an old Chicago warehouse, with Windy City memorabilia decorating the walls and mahogany trim throughout the bar. In addition to serving a full menu, including new low-carbohydrate options, curbside delivery service will be available.

To further involvement and commitment to the Wrentham community, the new restaurant will offer Uno’s School Partner Program. The program includes several educational events, like free Pizza Maker Parties and fundraising opportunities for local schools and community organizations.

The new Uno will be run by General Manager Mike Edwards. A restaurant industry veteran, Mike has been with Uno Chicago Grill for 10 years. Uno Chicago Grill provides a high quality causal dining experience and offers the best food around, said Mike Edwards. In addition, we believe that the convenience of curbside delivery will be big hit with Wrentham-area guests.

In 2003, the restaurant known for its Chicago Original Deep Dish Pizza evolved its name from Pizzeria Uno to Uno Chicago Grill to reflect the variety of its menu. Today, Uno Chicago Grill has the same great pizza, but also offers a complete casual dining menu, including ribs, seafood, juicy burgers and steaks, innovative pasta dishes, scrumptious appetizers, low-carbohydrate alternatives and desserts.

The company continues to earn accolades from industry and business publications. In 2003, Uno Chicago Grill was named by Entrepreneur Magazine as the #1 franchise opportunity in their category. The company also was selected by Franchise Times as one of the top 20 companies to watch in 2003.
