Wok King brings Hawaiian Luau style cooking to the backyards

Eastman Outdoors introduces the Wok King, taking the high level performance of a commercial wok cooking station to the outdoor barbecue.

The Wok King offers a fast and easy means of cooking large amounts of food for backyard barbecues, family gatherings and group outings. Its patented high-BTU Big Kahuna burner offers efficiency in propane usage, low carbon monoxide output and very high heat, much hotter than most stovetops. This all contributes to fast cooking, with most Hawaiian luau style meals done in just 5-10 minutes.

The Wok King line includes both 18 inch and 22 inch carbon steel and stainless steel woks and features the patented High-BTU, Big Kahuna Burner, complete with telescopic legs and a flip top grate for woks or pots. The flip top grate makes the Big Kahuna Burner versatile for other uses like frying a turkey, a crab boil, or frying chicken wings.

Complementing the unit are an assortment of stainless steel stir-frying accessories, Eastman Outdoors finishing sauces and the World Of Wok Cooking video, featuring tips on usage, food prep, recipes and clean up.

The Wok King offers the ideal environment to prepare traditional Asian dishes because of 1) high heat from the Big Kahuna burner searing food and 2) the wok's shape allowing foods to be easily stirred and turned at high heat without risk of burning them . While perfect for stir-fry, Wok Kings are versatile enough to be used for big batches of chili, soup and stew.

Traditional Carbon steel units are cleaned with water and a brush and seasoned with oil prior to storage. Our stainless steel woks offer ease of cleaning and premium looks.

World-renowned Executive Chef Elmer Guzman from Sam Choy’s Diamond Head restaurant in Honolulu, Hawaii recently conducted cooking demonstrations for barbecue aficionados using the Wok King as his new favorite cooking tool at the Hearth Patio and Barbecue convention in Anaheim on March 18-20. The Wok King was featured that same week by the CBS Early Show as one of seven hot new summer barbecue items, choosing the Wok King from over 1,000 exhibitors at the Housewares Show in Chicago.

The Wok King celebrates upward trends towards Asian cooking across the United States. The Asian food category has experienced double digit increases and Asian restaurant chains such as P.F. Chang’s are growing quickly across the country. The Wok King gives barbecue fans a way to make their favorite stir fry while enjoying the outdoors in summer, states Rob Eastman, president of Eastman Outdoors.
